Green bean casserole has become one of the most-favored of all Thanksgiving vegetables in America. Make this simple recipe one of your easy go-to vegetables for the holidays. It’s easy. And it’s perfect for any occasion all year long.

This mixed green bean casserole tops any I’ve made in the past. In fact, it was so good that I went back to the grocery store on Black Friday for the ingredients to make another one.

You don’t have to wait for Thanksgiving or Christmas gatherings to enjoy the green bean casserole. Plain green beans can be a bit boring. So treat your family to this baked mixed green bean dish throughout the year.

Main meal or side dish

You may prefer to serve the green bean casserole with a meat. However, I have made this recipe and served it as a main meal as well as a side dish.

Use cream of celery or cream of mushroom soup in the green bean casserole. I’ve even used cream of chicken soup. There are so many different ways to make it. But one thing makes this recipe very delicious – the flavor of the golden crispy onions added the last five minutes of baking.
