Imagine the amount of calories Americans eat in one afternoon on Super Bowl Sunday. Calories quickly add up. For instance, I like gluten-free blueberry waffles and sausage patties found in the frozen section at the grocery store. One serving of waffles amounts to two waffles, about 210 calories. Same thing with the sausages. Two of them add up to 270 calories. It’s easy for me to take two of each. One of each tastes just as good, though, and is half the calories.
Instead of totally skipping the foods you enjoy during Super Bowl, consider consuming only half the calories. Go ahead and have that pizza, but just eat the topping and not the bread. You’ll have much less bloating. Sounds crazy? Maybe, but not if you really want to enjoy Super Bowl food cravings without the extra calories, fats, and carbs.
