Breakfast Without Eggs

Breakfast Without Eggs

Egg lovers, imagine 21 days without an omelet or two fried eggs with toast, butter, and jelly. That’s what you face when you decide to go on a 21-day purification program that only allows vegetables, fruit, and whole food supplements with chicken and fish added the second week.

Here’s proof that you can go to a restaurant with a group for breakfast and eat an Eggless, Cheese-less Veggie Omelet! I did it!

My blogger group planned to meet for breakfast, and I was tempted to cheat at first. How could I go out for breakfast and not eat eggs and toast or eggs and a pancake? The purification program I’m on doesn’t allow eggs or toast for 21 days. Therefore, I prepared my food and drank a veggie and fruit shake before I went.

When it was my turn to order breakfast, I asked the waitress if it was possible for me to order a veggie omelet without the egg and cheese. She said she would check but had never heard of that before. The Eggless and Cheese-less omelet drew some attention. “Everybody is talking about how good it looks,” the waitress told me when she brought it to the table.

This was my fifth day of the detox program. Benefits to this particular clean program had convinced me that I should stick to the daily meal plans. For instance, I could have more energy, strengthen my immune system (encouraging since I’ve struggled with bronchitis for a month), focus better and be more productive.

The hard part for me at first was staying away from breads and not including eggs in my meals. However, I can honestly say I haven’t missed those foods as much as I had thought I would except for a couple of times. I like to eat veggie or chicken and veggie sandwiches on occasion. But my typical weekend breakfast with eggs wasn’t so bad – thanks to Molly Brown’s! Maybe they have discovered a new item to put on their menu. When I go there again, at least I’ll know what to order if I don’t want eggs.

Whether going out to eat for breakfast or invited to a lunch/dinner party, it is possible to stick to the detox plan. It’s just a matter of planning ahead.

  1. Wow! That does look really good. I gold my friend at SimplyHealthyEats.com about your “omelet.” Hopefully, she’ll stop by to check it out. Isn’t it amazing what can happen if you only ask.
